Dr. Sehrish Javaid is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist and Associate Professor of Pathology at the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. She is also an Academic Fellow of the American Academy of Oral Medicine. Her clinical focus involves the diagnosis and management of oral mucosal diseases, with particular interest in infections, immune-mediated disorders, and oral potentially malignant disorders.
Dr. Javaid provides patient care and clinical consultation for the diagnosis and management of both simple and complex oral pathology cases at the Oral Health Clinic at WLHSDM. She actively contributes to dental education and research, with an emphasis on clinical application and the early detection of oral disease in predoctoral training. She completed her specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at The Ohio State University. Dr. Javaid also holds a PhD in Oral and Craniofacial Biomedicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she focused on targeted therapies for head and neck cancer, and an MS in Oral Biology from the University of Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, in Pakistan.
